Accepting Our Own Private Madness
It probably is illogical to stretch the boundaries of your comfort when you're almost 40, 50, 60, when conventional wisdom says you should stay focused on the sane, straightforward path laid out before you.
It probably is foolish to give up that role you've been so comfortable with, to try that crazy idea that's been in the back of your head for the last few years.
It probably is silly to put yourself out there when you've got responsibilities, a place in your community, a 'reputation' you're expected to uphold.
But those ideas in your head.
Crazy, stupid, silly ideas by anyone else's standards.
But are they crazy, stupid, silly by yours?
As Aristotle once said, there is no great genius without some touch of madness.
