How We Value Time

While I’m not a “gamer” in any real sense of the word, there is one that I downloaded on my phone years ago and play when I have some downtime. It’s called Wordscapes and involves rearranging a set of scrambled letters into words in a crossword-like fashion.

I’ve played it enough that I’m now at Level 2,744.

When You Lack ‘The Brand’

A lack of a brand is a forcing mechanism.

There’s nothing to hide behind, nothing to protect you or carry you in a conversation.

A lack of brand requires you to be crystal clear about what you have to offer and what you represent. It forces you to do the work, to the point that someone decides to engage with you - because the value you offer compels that engagement.

Thinking About Value

Value is in the eye of the beholder. That seems like a straightforward statement, but it’s a hard one to truly grasp.

There are certainly tangible criteria that can be applied to the price of a particular product or service - its material inputs, the resources applied to convert those materials into some sort of finished product, and the related overhead needed to make all of that happen.
