Don’t Sit On The Sidelines
You're either in the game or you're not. You're either playing or you're not.
There's no point otherwise.
You don't get to pretend there's a middle ground. You don't get to coast and just reap the rewards. You don't get to stare at the race through your tinted windows and then expect to show up for the medals.
You certainly don't get the option of sitting on the sidelines and then complaining about the results if they don't go the way you want. (Well, you do, but don't expect to be taken seriously.)
The point is, we need to be in a place where we can influence. Change. Drive the agenda.
And where we don't have control, we need to put ourselves in control. Or work to get us there.
No, you don't need to have created the agenda, but you do need to believe in it. You need to own it - at the very least, you're part in it. (And if you don't, then why are you on this train in the first place?)
Of course, playing your full part doesn't mean you'll always get what you want. It doesn't mean you'll always win the race or sway the vote. Sadly, that's just life.
But it does mean, you've given what you could.
That you pushed as hard as you humanly could.
It means that you've lived.
What's the point otherwise?
